School Facilities
Fay is located in Southborough, MA, 25 miles west of Boston. Nestled in the heart of a classic New England town, our campus offers the best of what a spacious rural campus has to offer while still being a short drive from one of the great cities of the world. Our 66-acre campus includes state-of-the-art classrooms, two libraries, athletic facilities, art studio space, theater, music rooms, and our Center for Creativity and Design. Our homelike dormitories for our boarders feature comfortable bedrooms and common spaces, and faculty apartments to ensure 24-hour supervision and care.
Academics
Fay is internationally respected for its excellent academics, its commitment to tradition and innovation, and its strong secondary school counseling program. Students take courses on a six-day rotation, in an engaging program that includes mathematics, English, history, science, world language, Creators, art, music, wellness, and athletics. Students are assigned to some courses based on their grade level; students are enrolled in other courses (such as math and world language) based on their level of proficiency.
Athletics
Athletics is an intrinsic part of life at Fay—and whether you’re a novice or an elite athlete, there’s a sport for you and opportunities to reach your personal best. With over 20 sports offered, 57 different teams over three seasons, and 10 intramural options, every student is able to find an athletic option that is appropriately challenging and engaging. Whether you’re trying out a new sport for the first time or starting on a varsity team, athletics at Fay provides the opportunity for challenge, growth—and fun.
Arts
Our arts programs are central to inspiring the creative spirit in our students. All students have weekly instruction in music and visual arts. Drama and dance are also part of our program, with opportunities for students across the grade levels.
Fay students learn to harness the arts as tools for personal expression. They discover interests and passions that they can pursue in secondary school and beyond. And they become creative thinkers who are confident in their ability to tackle challenges with ingenuity and grit.
Signature Program(s)
Fay’s Ninth Grade Program is a capstone year of challenge and leadership. As the “seniors” of the School, our ninth graders seize new opportunities for personal growth as students, athletes, artists, and leaders, making them more well-rounded and polished candidates for secondary school.
Throughout their time at Fay, our students participate in Vox Inventum (“Find Your Voice”), a school-wide program developed by our faculty that fosters public speaking and presentation skills, fosters self-advocacy and organizational skills, and emphasizes effort, civility, and kindness.
Summer Programs
During the summer, Fay’s campus transforms into FaySummer and offers day and overnight programs. Our day camps offer dynamic, engaging programs for campers in pre-school (age 3) – grade 9 that feature a wide range of activities. Our two overnight programs, English Immersion and Academic Adventure, are for ages 10-15 and are focused on academics and enrichment. Both of these programs are great opportunities for students to practice independence and experience life at a boarding school.
