Eaglebrook School

Set on 850 acres in historic Deerfield, Massachusetts, Eaglebrook’s campus offers an exceptional range of facilities. Students benefit from top-tier athletic amenities, including a mountain equipped with snowmaking and groomed trails for skiing and snowboarding, an indoor ice hockey arena, a swimming pool, expansive playing fields, baseball diamonds, an all-weather track and turf field, and wooded trails for cross-country running, hiking, and mountain biking. Additional resources include a gymnasium, squash and tennis courts, a fitness center, an indoor golf simulator, and spacious locker rooms.

Academic life centers around the Evans Academic Center, which houses classrooms for core subjects, science laboratories, spaces for visual and performing arts, the innovation lab, and the Copley Library. The school also features a dedicated robotics lab outfitted with 3D printers, CNC machines, soldering stations, and CAD software such as Fusion 360, Onshape, Tinkercad, and Rhinoceros 3D. Students reside in one of six dormitories on campus. Looking ahead, a new dining hall, scheduled to open in summer 2026, will provide stunning views of the Deerfield Valley.

Eaglebrook recognizes that boys in middle school learn in different ways, vary in their innate ability, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes are organized to meet the needs of each boy, and extra help is always available. Eaglebrook School has earned a reputation as an innovator in middle school curriculum. The school year is divided into three academic trimesters with seven classes that meet Monday through Friday in a rotating schedule of six periods. Boys are assigned to the appropriate English and mathematics classes. In world languages, history, and science, students have some choices. The Art Department, academic departments, Athletic Department, and individual teachers offer elective courses that meet each trimester. These chosen electives give boys an opportunity to design part of their own course of study.

Eaglebrook’s athletic program is designed to provide boys of all sizes, ages and abilities opportunity for physical and emotional growth. We strongly believe that our athletic program teaches valuable life lessons of commitment, cooperation, and sportsmanship. By experiencing the thrill of competition, the exhilaration of a personal physical triumph, or the camaraderie of a team pushing its boundaries, boys discover their true characters. Boys have the opportunity to choose competitive and non-competitive sports each season, and our teams are suitable for players of all sizes and abilities. Eaglebrook offer 20 different sports offerings and field 41 different teams.

Eaglebrook boys brighten the school with their imagination and creativity. Trained artists offer all Eaglebrook students a multimedia introduction to art. The Skills of Self-Expression and Creativity are some of the Core Skills we hope each boy develops while at Eaglebrook. Each trimester, students have an opportunity to choose from a wide variety of electives in the Visual and Performing Arts.

Oil paints, ceramics, digital photography, stained glass, printmaking, woodworking, and stone carving—these are just a handful of the mediums boys can pursue alongside our talented and invested visual arts instructors. With access to light-filled art studios and exceptional tools, like ceramic wheels and digital cameras, boys can allow their creativity to soar.

Many students are new to performing arts, training their voices, ears, and stage presence for the first time, and we welcome boys who have never sung a note, strummed a cord, or recited a sonnet. At the same time, we offer advanced performing arts classes to boys ready for a lead role in a production or first chair in band. Boys can join band, jazz band, chorus, or string orchestra, and can audition for the a cappella group in their 9th grade year.

Throughout the year, boys look forward to taking part in traditions and rites of passage that build community and school spirit, including Sixth Form Assemblies, Home Nights, Hilly Chase, Country Fair, Winter Carnival, and Good Fellow. These traditions, passed on for generations, enliven the Eaglebrook experience, and they remain the most potent of memories for our graduates.

Eaglebrook Summer Semester is an exciting four-week boarding adventure designed to build confidence in young boys and girls aged 10-13 through achievement and foster leadership skills in the classroom, outdoors, on the playing field, and within the school community.
